 About Me

Latonia M. Cox, is a Spanish speaking, licensed professional counselor with mental health services designation, and registered play therapist who has a passion to work with children and families. She has extensive experience and training in the areas of family violence, violent crime/traumas, survivors of abuse/sexual assault, attentional issues, mood disorders, and abandonment/attachment issues.  Latonia has used this clinical experience to educate and present on topics that are important for counselors’ growth and development as well as issues in clinical supervision.  She has most recently presented at SACES regional conference in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2016 on topics of multicultural issues in supervision. She has also presented a workshop with TLPCA in Clarksville on integrating play therapy and other approaches to treat child trauma.   Notwithstanding, as a demonstration of her commitment to educating the public as well as future counselors, she is a doctoral candidate of counselor education and supervision at Trevecca Nazarene University and wants to use her experience and education to serve consumers and providers of behavioral health services.
